The popular bands in the park programme is back for another musical season. Taking place on Sundays across the summer there is a wide range of free music from folk to rock to be enjoyed. Make it a day out and bring your picnic blanket, some chairs and the family to enjoy the music and atmosphere. Priory Park is just a short walk from Great Malvern’s cafes and shops so grab an iced coffee, pastry or ice-cream from one of the independent businesses and head down to the park for some live music on a Sunday afternoon. The kids can enjoy the new playpark and don’t forget your furry friends too!
Here are some of the musical marvels that will be taking over the Priory Park bandstand this summer:
22 May – The Institutions Cover Band – This highly in demand cover band has been playing energetic covers since 2013. Expect to hear something for everyone played with energy, talent and fun.
12 June – Flatword – Playing an eclectic mix of eastern European folk music presented in an accessible form these lively tunes are sure to have you dancing by the end of their set.
7 August – Gene Genie and The Lemon Squeezers – A fab covers band who take pride in leaving no one in their seats. As they like to say: “If you can’t dance to it, we don’t play it!” Covering all music genres from Motown to Britpop they are true professionals in entertainment.
The full programme also includes a great selection of brass bands, a Red Hot Chilli Peppers experience group and jazz in Rosebank Gardens. See the complete run down below (please note the concerts on 11 & 18 September have been cancelled):
