Now in its seventh year, Callow End Festival is organised by the volunteer group that looks after the playing fields. It’s an annual summer event that draws people from the village and wider community together on the playing fields, to make use of the wonderful space and amenities.
This event has taken many forms over the years from music festival to fun run and this year it will feature an outdoor cinema screening of The Greatest Showman, followed by live music from Gene Genie and the Lemon Squeezers. There’s also a pizza wagon, barbeque and bar to keep everyone refreshed.
As well as drawing people from near and far to Callow End, the festival raises much needed funds for the upkeep and betterment of the playing fields. Alongside the regular use by sports teams and events the facilities also include a tennis court, cycle track, playground, all-weather path and outdoor gym equipment. All of which are in place as a result of the funds raised and work carried out by the Callow End Playing Field Association, with support from Powick Parish Council and members of the wider community.
So, come and join in the fun and support a great cause in the process!
Tickets are available at the gate, which opens at 5pm. Come and get some food and drink before the screening at 6.30pm. Band starts at 9pm.
