Dark, misty hills, Victorian tales of untimely deaths, unearthly visions haunting orchards… Spooky season has landed in The Malverns. Get the whole family together (it’s not safe to go alone…), get dressed up in your most terrifying outfits and enjoy a whole host of paranormal activities across this wonderfully witchy season. Or, if all things paranormal aren’t your bag, there are various Bonfire Night and firework events on bringing much needed light and warmth to the increasingly dark November nights.
Whether you’re into real life ghost hunting, or have a host of little ghosts, goblins and ghouls to entertain we have gathered together a list of festive treats to get stuck into…
Halloween Events
Tenbury Wells Pumpkin Trail

The free pumpkin trail, hosted by Tenbury Tourist Information Centre (TIC), will take place from Monday 24 October to Saturday 29 October 2022. There will be 15 pumpkins with ghoulish faces hiding around the town, where children will be able to follow the trail to pick up the letters and win a prize.
Spooky Spiders at The ‘Pepperpot’ Heritage Centre

Halloween has descended on the ‘Pepperpot’ in Upton and the place is full of cobwebs and spooky spiders…but how many can you find? Big ones, medium ones, small ones – the Tourist Information Office Staff particularly need your help in finding the naughty medium spiders who like to hide so they can be rounded back up before the end of Halloween. Can you help to find 20 of the medium ones?
Each person who comes to the TIC dressed in Halloween outfits or helps to find the 20 naughty medium sized spiders has the chance to win a prize from the lucky dip trick or treat bowl.
Spooky Spiders at the Pepperpot is running on Friday 28 October & Saturday 29 October 10am-1pm-1:30pm-5pm and Monday 31 October from 10am – 1pm & 1:30pm-4pm.
Halloween Fun Witley Court
Take your little terrors on this quest around the gardens, following cheeky characters Dennis the Menace and his dog Gnasher and solving creepy clues. Find the costumed performers and hear their tales, some spooky and some absolutely batty. Get cheaper tickets by booking in advance.
Ghost Hunting at The Nunnery
Adrenaline junkies, paranormal experts and curious cats will have the opportunity to get seriously spooked looking for ghosts on this Halloween hunt. Left abandoned for years by its previous holy occupants this trip will take you through the old chapel and basement of the creepy disused buildings. See what might be lurking there by torchlight and hold a ghost hunting vigil. This is an 18+ only event and participants are advised to enter at their own risk.
NEW Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children

This brand-new festival has a wide array of events, shows and workshops for children of all ages; some of which lend themselves perfectly to the Halloween season. On Saturday 22 Oct celebrate 35 years of the beloved Winnie the Witch with Korky Paul with a live performance and witches hat drawing competition, and perhaps the spooky mood will encourage Winnie herself to make a sudden appearance. And on Sunday 23 Oct explore drawing, savage stories, and the nasty bits of history with Martin Brown, the illustrator of Horrible Histories.
Ghost Trail at Brockhampton
The medieval Brockhampton estate, with its ancient manor house, makes the perfect backdrop for some spooky fun. This autumn the estates large orchard will run a Halloween themed children’s trail – find out which ghost has been causing havoc at the manor house! It will run over half term from 10am to 4pm and cost £2.50 including a prize. After completing the trail explore Brockhampton Estates over 1,000 acres of countryside, including waymarked walks.
Halloween Family Fun at Caspian Wood
Caspian Wood Glamping is holding an afternoon of Halloween fun on Friday 28 Oct. Spooktacular fun and games, pumpkin soup and damper dough round the fire. Get stuck in with biscuit decorating, pumpkin carving and come dressed up in your most fearsome costume. £12 per child and pre-booking is essential.
The Water Cure Stranger Things Horror Party
The atmospheric interior of Great Malvern’s glamourous cocktail bar is the perfect spot to spend a horror themed evening. Don’t let the kids have all the dressing up fun as there will be a prize for best costume. Enjoy a special Halloween cocktail menu and 80’s inspired atmosphere with the proceeds from ticket sales being donated to Depher, a charity providing heating and plumbing services to the elderly. Tickets £5, booking in advance recommended.
Halloween Party Play Specials at Little Hedgehogs Play Garden
Take your little terrors to a Halloween special at Little Hedgehogs Play Garden. Dress up and enjoy spooktacular activities, from potion making, spooky games, craft making and a Halloween hunt – plus all the usual fun and games. Suitable for ages 0-5 with a coffee hut to keep adults refreshed.
Halloween Workshop’s
Join Link Nurseries Powick for their Halloween children’s workshops. There will be lots of fun Halloween craft activities including a special Pumpkin Patch to choose your own pumpkin to carve plus a Halloween Craft Activity Pack. Dress up and have your picture snapped in the Halloween photo booth or take a spooky journey through the Halloween Trail in the pretty gardens at Link Nurseries.

Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Regal Tenbury Wells
The Regal is showing this cult classic Saturday, 26 November 2022. Expect outrageous dressing up and plenty of dancing. The bar will be open for drinks before the showing and the front bar will be open for the duration of the film.
Bar Limon and Masa Kitchen – Mexican Feast
Celebrate the Mexican festival Día de los Muertos ~ Day of the Dead at Bar Limon on Wednesday 2 November. This colourful festival, traditionally a joyful celebration to pay respects to lost loved ones, will be marked with a Mexican feast, cocktails, beers, music and face painting. Kids Halloween Story Trail at The Cob House
The idyllic countryside location of The Cob House is hosting their popular Halloween trail. Pick up a copy of the story and search for clues in the countryside walk. Available across the half term week with booklets costing just £2. After the trail hide from the frightful happenings in their cosy cafe serving family favourites and delicious deserts.
Halloween Fun at Kyre Park Antiques Barn
There must be some old ghosts hiding amongst the antiques at Kyre Park. Kyre Park Antiques Barn is providing half term Halloween fun with a free kid’s spooky quiz, Halloween hot dogs and delicious pumpkin cake. Open from 10am – 5pm everyday it’s the perfect opportunity to take a walk around the beautiful gardens, rummage for treasures in the antiques barn and grab lunch at the bistro.
Bonfire Night
Kempsey School Village Fireworks
On 5 November Kempsey Primary School are putting on a fantastic fireworks party. Come along for the best of a traditional bonfire night with light up toys, games, BBQ food and hot drinks as well as wood fired pizza and doughnuts. Gates open at 4pm and fireworks go off at 6pm, tickets essential.
Bonfire and Fireworks at Great Witley
This popular village event returns for Guy Fawkes Night fun and to raise funds for Quartergreen Sports & Leisure to maintain and develop multi-sport activity for the community and surrounding villages. Head to Quarterman field, Stourport Road, Great Witley on November 5 for a bonfire, fireworks, BBQ food and bar. Gates open at 5pm, the fire will be lit at 5.45pm and the fireworks set off at 6.30pm. Adults are £5 and under 16’s go free. Remember to wrap up warm, bring a torch and arrive in good time to see the fireworks.
Malvern Cricket Club Bonfire & Firework Display
Malvern Cricket Club are hosting their FREE bonfire bash on Saturday 5 November from 6pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and there will be a fully licenced bar and BBQ with hot dogs and burgers. Bring your own fireworks and they will be let off safely at the event as well as the display.
Bonfire Night, Disco & Fireworks at The Wharf Inn Holt Fleet
This popular pub will be celebrating Guy Fawkes Night with a riverside bonfire, fireworks display and outdoor entertainment with DJ Disco Alex. Hot pork baps as well as refreshments will be on offer.
The Drum and Monkey Fireworks and Bonfire
The Drum and Monkeys famous bonfire celebrations are going ahead this year with a large bonfire and fab fireworks. The bonfire will be lit at about 6.45pm, book a table for pub food or enjoy a hog roast. A local favourite with a great atmosphere this event is not to be missed.
Firework Night at The Prince of Wales
Head to this comfortable pub on Saturday 5 November for free food and fireworks fun. Tickets £3.50 pp
Head up on the hills
Great Malvern is lucky to have an excellent vantage point to make the most of firework’s night in the hills. Wrap up warm, bring a torch and a flask of something hot and head up to The Beacon for the best views of all The Malvern’s fireworks and bonfires. You are sure to meet a community of others doing the same. Make sure to wear suitable footwear, take care when descending in the dark and bring all your rubbish home with you.
