Brodsky Quartet Sarah Cressewll, Laura van der Heijden, Sam Trench

Malvern Concert Club was founded by Elgar and his friends in 1903 to bring the best of classical chamber music to this area. The Club looks forward to welcoming returning members and would like to encourage new members to join to enjoy substantial savings. Tickets to individual concerts are also available for sale via the Malvern Theatres Box Office.

Following a successful 2021-22 season, Malvern Concert Club is delighted to invite you to join them for their 120th Season which begins on 29 September 2022 at Malvern Theatres. The Brodsky Quartet, who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year make a welcome return. They will play Bach’s sonata for solo violin arranged by their violist Paul Cassidy, and Shostakovich’s powerful 8th string quartet in C minor. Cellist Laura Van der Heijden appears with them for her first time at the Club in Schubert’s ever popular String Quintet in C.

Roderick Williams and Susie Allan provide a Birthday Celebration for Ralph Vaughan Williams interspersed with works by his contemporaries on 27 October 2022. Trio Wanderer will return on 24 November 2022 with music by Beethoven, Liszt and Saint-Saëns.

The season continues after the Christmas break with recitals by The Piatti Quartet, Elisabeth Brauss, The Calidore Quartet and Emma Johnson and Friends. Further details of a season’s membership, where each ticket costs as little as £15, can be found in the blue brochure, available from various venues in Malvern and the surrounding area including Malvern Library, Malvern Theatres (please note access is via the Priory Park Entrance during the current development works) and the Tourist Information Centre, or on the Malvern Concert Club website where memberships can also be purchased online.

Single tickets can also be purchased from Malvern Theatres, but membership offers the same music at a lower cost. All evening concerts are on Thursdays at 7.30 pm in the Forum Theatre, Malvern.
