The Malvern Well Dressing Festival is set to return with a theme fitting for this coronation year.

The popular festival, which will be held from Saturday 29 April to Sunday 7 May 2023, will see many wells, springs and spouts creatively decorated in the theme of ‘Kings & Queens’. The theme links both to the British Royal Family, to celebrate 2023 as the year King Charles III will be crowned, as well as tales of mythical and fictional Kings & Queens.

The annual event celebrates the history of the Malvern Hills, from its iconic spring water and Victorian Water Cure to the area’s ancient Pagan traditions. It is brought to the town by the Malvern Spa Association with local businesses and community groups taking part. It’s a big occasion, last year over 800 people took part in dressing the wells, springs and sprouts.

Visitors can view the wonderful creations by setting off across the hills on foot, by bicycle or on a self-drive tour. NEW for 2023 The British Society of Dowsing will be hosting talks and demonstrations at Malvern Cube on 29-30 April.

The Water Festival Family Fun Day and Well Dressing Prize Giving event will take place on Bank Holiday Monday May Day with a combination of family fun activities, live music, street entertainers and much more! Learn about the history of the Victorian Water Cure – events tbc.
