Malvern’s top mutt has been revealed after beating 250 other dogs in a photo competition.
Jude and James Wild, from Malvern, scooped the prize in the #MalvernMutts photo competition and were the lucky winners of the FISH4DOGS hamper full of dog treats and dog food worth £100.
The winning shot featured 18-month-old Margo, their fox red Cockerdor (half working Cocker Spaniel and half Labrador), with the ridge of the Malvern Hills behind her.
Margo, who comes from Ashford Kennels in Shropshire, is named after Margo in The Good Life and even has her own Instagram page (@margothecockerdor).
More than 250 entries were sent in and the competition was so tough that the top ten photos were put to the public to choose.
The #MalvernMutts competition, which ran from Friday 24 July to Monday 31 August, was organised by Visit The Malverns in partnership with Worcestershire-based dog food company FISH4DOGS.
Participants were asked to take a photo of their dog out and about walking or enjoying a day out in The Malverns and then post it on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #MalvernMutts.
Jude Wild, Owner of Margo, said: “Margo is delighted to win the prize! She is hugely grateful to those that voted for her and will reward anyone she sees on the hills with smiles and tail wags. She hopes to see you all up there enjoying the beautiful views.”
Cllr Sarah Rouse, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “A big well done to Jude and James, and Margo of course, for scooping the top prize. Thank you to everyone who got involved, it has been lovely to see so many Malvern Mutts enjoying our stunning scenery and sitting at our dog friendly venues.”
