A new monthly concert series at Elmslie House in Great Malvern will be bringing the magic of live music to under-5s and their families in a relaxed and baby-friendly setting.

Performed by professional musicians, and tailored for little ones to enjoy alongside their grown-ups, each Little Bluebird session will feature different instruments and styles, from classical to folk and jazz, offering a wide variety of musical experiences to engage and delight children and their carers alike.

Hannah Grove, herself a professional musician with several years’ experience organising similar concerts for preschoolers, was inspired to set up the series after seeing first hand how early exposure to live music sparks imagination and develops rhythm, motor and listening skills in children in a very unique way, through the freedom of their individual response to the music.

Each concert will therefore encourage interactivity and movement, as well as offering the opportunity to learn about different sounds and moods through listening. Children will also benefit from exploring the instruments afterwards together with the performers, which parents and grandparents can enjoy too!

First up on Friday 7th February will be the magical combination of flute and harp with The Amara Duo, who promise an enchanting morning with their story The Lost Unicorn told through music.

The series will then continue on the first Friday of every month, with a folk-themed accordion concert, a bit of lively baby baroque to dance to, and a delightful classical duo of clarinet and violin forming just part of the line-up through to the summer.

All concerts begin at 10:30am and will last approximately half an hour, and everyone is invited to meet and play over coffee and home-made cake which will be available from 10am as well as afterwards during the meet-the-instrument session. Entry is free for all children, with each adult ticket priced at £6, available online or on the door. You can purchase your tickets by clicking here.

Additional family concerts are also planned to complement the Little Bluebird series, including a very special performance featuring Paddington Bear in support of a fundraising initiative for Acorns Children’s Hospice, so please do follow Bluebird Concerts on their Facebook Page for the latest news.
