We welcome the Government’s roadmap to recovery and look forward to the day when we can welcome visitors back to enjoy everything The Malverns has to offer.

Unfortunately, that time is not quite yet and we ask those thinking of visiting our district to continue to stay away for the moment.

Although people can now drive to destinations anywhere in England for recreation, if too many people do visit our beauty spots they will become crowded very quickly and social distancing will become impossible. This risks spreading the virus and our priority, and the priority of all of us, must be to help save lives.

We ask people first and foremost to continue to consider using local spaces near to where they live for recreation. If people do choose to travel to our district then we ask that if people get to a destination and it looks so busy they cannot stay 2m apart from people, to turn around and go elsewhere.

Tourism is a very important part of our district’s economy. We are working on a recovery plan to support our tourism businesses in the short-term. Looking to the future, we also have ambitious plans in our Visitor Economy Action Plan which we still intend to deliver once this current crisis is over.

For now though, we ask you to help us make sure The Malverns remains a safe place to live, work and visit for everyone by staying away. When the rate of infection of this virus has been driven down further and our businesses are able to reopen safely, that will be the right time to pay us a visit and we will be delighted to welcome you.
