The Charitable arm of Upton Blues Festival has announced that it has up to £25,000 to give away to local, music education or blues charities.
The Upton Blues Festival is quite remarkable. Attracting well over 20,000 music lovers to enjoy the full breadth of blues music it overwhelms the small riverside Worcestershire town of Upton upon Severn. The campsite alone nearly trebles the town’s population of 2900, and the festival brings in well over £1M to the town’s businesses over the weekend. The festival is completely free to attend and is totally self-funding. Upton Blues Festival is the UK Blues Awards Festival of the Year.
Because of the continued success of this remarkable festival the Trustees are now able to implement a formal process for giving our excess funds each year helping organisations and individuals to achieve their dreams and goals. A website and application process has been set up and can be found at www.uptonbluescharity.com.
Following the recent changes to our Charitable Objects approved by the Charities Commission the charity can now fund programmes and projects that fall into one of three categories:
Upton upon Severn area
We can support any good works within 10 miles of Upton-upon-Severn area.
We can support music education projects throughout the Midlands.
The Blues Community
We can support projects throughout the UK which develop and improve the understanding of blues music and increase its performance, awareness and learning.
Requests for funding must be for over £250, can be for one off or multi-year funding and made before 30.01.19 using the form provided.
The 2019 Upton Blues Festival will be held on 18-21 July. All the information is at www.uptonbluesfestival.com
