Malvern is world renowned for its natural spring water, and at the Malvern Well Dressing and Water Festival, we celebrate its rich and varied history from ancient pagan traditions to the more recent Victorian Water Cure.
The Malvern Hills rise up dramatically out of the Severn Valley, and offer a huge variety of walking routes, tempting some visitors to take leisurely strolls on the lower slopes or for the more hardy walkers, longer and more strenuous rambles along the peaks.
From the 4-12 May 2019, at the Malvern Well Dressing & Water Festival, visitors can experience rather a lot more than just outstanding, mesmerising views and glorious lush green land, but you can also tour the wells, springs and spouts all dressed in a fantastic display of different designs and colours. This year, the theme is ‘Flight’ and there will be over 60 wells, springs and spouts dressed by local businesses and community groups. This is a truly unique festival in a stunning part of the country. See more information about Well Dressing Walking Routes below.
Make sure you come to the Well Dressing Prize Draw Ceremony in Priory Park on May Day to cheer on your favourite dressing to win a prize. There are different prizes for wells dressed by adults and children. Find out more about May Day in Priory Park.
