An unsettling mist is settling over Malvern. Reports of aliens flying overhead, snakes slithering through hotels, mysterious voices heard from churches and lots of other creepy things going on!
We’re sure we can hear magical witches, warlocks and wizards whispering in the darkness against a waning crescent slither of a moon. What magic and mystery will you find?
There are plenty of Halloween events taking place across The Malverns (Malvern, Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn) this year, including a real-life ghost hunt, murder mystery and spooky trails. Come and stay for a night or two to feel immersed in the variety of ‘spooky’ family fun activities or just pick your favourite experience for a day trip. There’s plenty going on! Hocus Pocus Outdoor Cinema 30 October 2021
There will be two screenings, with the first one showing at 6pm, and second at 9pm. Viewers are asked to arrive up to an hour before the start of each screening.
The free open air showing takes place on Saturday 30 October 2021 at The Burgage, Tenbury Wells.
The event has been organised by Ludwig Arts and funded by ERDF Welcome Back Fund, which is administered by Malvern Hills District Council.
Picnics are welcomed and people are advised to wrap up warm and bring a torch.

The Community of the Holy Name established the convent in Ranelagh Road in 1879
This is a large site with a beautiful church situated in the middle of it. You will have access to the Church which will be our base room, the corridors leading to the church, Harvest House and Sanctuary house ( where the Nuns lived) and a huge network of basement rooms , the basement is a total maze and are situated under the whole complex!
Mappy Halloween at The Beauchamp Arms – 30 October 2021

Double Double Toil and Trouble : A Halloween Murder Mystery Evening – 31 October 2021 6:30pm to 10:30pm
A once in a lifetime opportunity to use real ghost-hunting equipment in an actual haunted convent. The Community of the Holy Name established the convent in Ranelagh Road in 1879 and was once home to 250 nuns. The grounds still boast a beautiful church and houses connected via an underground maze. Those who live nearby have reported singing and chanting can be heard at times when the church is empty, and builders noticed tools going missing and strange noises while carrying out upkeep.
It is 1899. George Sweet, the 5th Earl of Coddingham, is hosting one final party on Halloween Night at Leigh and Bransford Memorial Hall. As well as having to investigate the murder, characters will have their own objectives to complete and additional mysteries.

Halloween festivities being held at Norton Parish Hall including a fancy dress competition and pumpkin lantern competition followed by fireworks. There will be food and refreshments available.

Witley Court (English Heritage) is holding a Halloween quest inspired by Cressida Cowell’s bestselling Wizards of Once series. Murder Mystery at Manor Sports Club- 31 October 7pm – 10pm
VegLife is hosting a ‘foodie’ and a ‘human Cluedo’ event on Halloween night at the Manor Sports Club. Each person is given a “weapon” which is anything from an everyday item such as a mobile phone to a more peculiar item such as a pumpkin! They are also given a “victim” who can be anyone at the event and a “location” which can be anywhere in the event. They must then tactfully hand their weapon to their victim or have it passed to them at some point during the evening to complete their “murder”! They will then be given a new murder by the host. Mr Thom’s Finest Chocolates, Sweets and Ices in Tenbury Wells, have some terrifyingly delicious treats, including yummy spooky chocolate buns. In Malvern more treats can be found at Chocolate Avenue and Sweet Street.
