Event Description

Join us on Earth Day to contribute to our community bunting project, organised to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III.

This is a drop-in activity. Get messy and decorate bunting inspired by the monarch’s life-long passion for the natural world, traditional crafts, and the environment.

There will be plain bunting and an assortment of crafting materials available, so come along and get involved with this fun activity on Earth Day.

The bunting decorated on 22 April, along with pieces created by volunteers, local schools and community groups will help us to create a large collaborative artwork that will be exhibited at Croome over the Coronation weekend.

This project is inspired by the craftivist movement spearheaded by Sarah P Corbett of the award-winning Craftivist Collective. Craftivism is the act of using crafts (sewing or making things by hand) to achieve political or social change through slow, meditative processes. Often referred to as the art of gentle protest, craftivism’s main objective is to change the world through creativity by empowering makers to engage deeply and thoughtfully in issues important to them.

This is a free activity (normal admission prices apply).
