Event Description
Veteran Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski offers up a surreal, thoughtful discourse on human folly – a world viewed alongside a donkey – inspired by Bresson’s 1966 Au Hasard Balthazar.
EO (think braying) is a donkey with soulful eyes and a fondness for carrots. He encounters people and situations, both good and bad, on his journey through life, from a circus ring, through a donkey sanctuary to a football pitch. He experiences joy and pain, endures the vicissitudes of fortune that turn luck into disaster and despair into unexpected bliss. But what he never loses is his innocence.
