Gardens predominantly laid out in 1865, featuring three avenues of oak, cedar and lombardy poplar, within and around which are flowering shrubs and specimen trees. Meadows within the avenues feature, depending on the season, daffodils, fritillaries, bluebells, cowslips etc. Rhododendrons have recently been planted and there is a holly hedge enclosure with a 100m walk of peonies and irises, next to a crescent tunnel of pollarded limes.
Admission is £10 (children £4) and you can book your tickets online in advance via the NGS website or pay on the day (card or cash).
