Event Description
Artist and illustrator Will Hughes presents a workshop for children demonstrating how to create and draw historical characters and use them to make an illustrated story. Suitable for children aged 5 – 10 years.
Will Hughes is an illustrator from Malvern, Worcestershire. He studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2017, after which he began working on his first children’s book, What Not To Give An Ogre For His Birthday, which was published in July 2019 by Little Door Books. Since then he has taken part in the Picture Hooks Mentoring scheme and has illustrated a number of books including Uncle Pete and The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep by David C. Flanagan and The Universal Zoo by Neal Zetter.
His Illustrations are generally comic in some way and are usually made with ink, watercolour, acrylic, coloured pencil and collage. He enjoys working in this way because he believes that it complements the jolly, energetic and slightly silly tone of his drawings.
