Walk No: T03
Birmingham and Worcester Canal Walk
This trail follows the Birmingham and Worcester Canal from its start at Gas Street Basin to its junction with the River Severn at Diglis Basin in Worcester. On Day 4 we’ll follow the Droitwich Canal to its junction with the River Severn at Hawford and then follow the River Severn to Worcester.
Walking alongside the canal will obviously be flat but there are several tunnels that we’ll have to walk around. This will involve some uphill element but nothing too steep and very few if any stiles. We will stop and look at places of interest and wildlife on the way.
You can choose to book sections of the Canal Walk as single-day walks or book all the days for the whole walk over 4 days. The individual days are listed separately as T03A, T03B, T03C and T03D, where you will also find walk details, including meeting points and length of walk.
The four sections are:
T03A (31 May): Birmingham New Street Station to Alvechurch Station
T03B (1 June): Alvechurch to Droitwich Spa
T03C (3 June): Droitwich Spa to Worcester Foregate Street station via the Droitwich canal to its junction with the Birmingham and Worcester canal, which we will then follow south to Diglis Basin.
T03D (4 June): Droitwich Spa station to Worcester Foregate Street station via the Droitwich canal and the River Severn.
Please book T03 if you wish to walk the whole 4 days. Alternatively book individual sections under T03A, T03B, T03C, T03D.
Please bring packed lunches and drinks each day.
