Event Description
Walk No: MWF31
WORCESTERSHIRE WAY IN A DAY
31 miles; allow 10-11 hours
Join us on a 31-mile hike through beautiful Worcestershire along the full length of the Worcestershire Way.
The coach drops us at the start of the path on the River Severn in Bewdley. We head south, passing the villages of Abberley and Martley, and through the delightful Ravenshill Woodland Reserve. We enter the Teme Valley and enjoy a short riverside section along the River Teme. The final section is particularly lovely as you pass through the glorious Malvern Hills before finishing in Great Malvern.
If you are a very fit and experienced walker who has completed 20+ mile or hilly walks before, you will find this a hard but rewarding hike.
Once we leave Bewdley it is 17 miles before you can buy any refreshments. Be sure to take plenty of food and drink plus all the kit you would normally take for a long trek.
Check the weather on days leading up to the walk: if hot you must bring hats, sun cream, lip balm; if wet you must bring waterproofs … or both.
Start: 8.00 am
Meet: in the Priory Rd South Car Park, opposite Malvern Splash, where we’ll get on the coach at 08.00. Please give yourself plenty of time to get there – the coach will leave promptly at 08.00!
