Event Description
Come along to “The Pepperpot”, home to Upton-upon-Severn’s Tourist Information and Heritage Centre, to enjoy a free mince pie this Friday, Saturday or Monday (10am – 1pm & 1.30pm – 4pm on all three days).
The Heritage Centre is home to fascinating displays and exhibits telling the story of Upton over the centuries and the iconic tower, known locally as “The Pepperpot” due to its distinctive copper-covered cupola, is itself a striking exhibit. You’ll learn about Upton’s key role in the English Civil War, as well as its links to trade and fishing on the River Severn, plus much more.
Whether you are a local resident or visitor to the town, the Tourist Information Centre offers a wide range of leaflets to help you choose what to see and do in this beautiful area, rich in history, wildlife and family-friendly attractions, with culinary delights and independent shops aplenty. There are also souvenirs and gifts available to purchase, including a wide variety of products featuring images of Upton and delicious locally produced food. New this year is an exclusive range of Christmas cards featuring unique seasonal images of Upton.
If visiting on Saturday, be sure to head to the Tudor House Museum, just across the road, for more festive refreshments and Christmas-themed children’s activities (open 11am -3pm).
Extend your visit by having lunch or a snack at one of Upton’s many excellent pubs, cafes and restaurants and visiting the wide range of independent shops packed with Christmas gift ideas and your day-to-day essentials.
