Event Description
An exploration of routes off the beaten track, on and around the Herefordshire Beacon aka British Camp and nearby hills.
From historic Little Malvern Priory with its Benedictine heritage, we follow the contour below the hill fort, and climb to the ridge. After reaching Walm’s Well, which dates from the late Bronze age, and was later revered by the water curists, we continue below the west side of the ridge.
The concluding part of this highly scenic route is to the north of the A449 road, eventually reaching Wynd’s Point and down to the Priory.
Generally easy but with a long incline and a few difficult short stretches towards the end. Frequent stops to discuss history and landscapes.
