Event Description

This walk falls neatly into three parts.

First, a meander through now peaceful woods that were once a hive of industrial activity.

After the woodlands, we will walk through apple orchards, which continue to be a mainstay of Worcestershire’s economy. If we’re lucky, the trees will still be in bloom. This part of the walk has some excellent views of North Hill.

The final part is a climb onto the west side of the hills to return to our starting point.

The total ascent is 285m. There are a handful of stiles to negotiate. There are no public toilets along the route.

This walk is from the Cicerone ‘Short Walks on the Malvern Hills’ book and is led by the author. She will give some background about the history of the woods and orchards as the walk progresses.
