Event Description

A fascinating historical walk, passing many interesting homes and learning about the people who lived in them, including a 17th century cottage occupied for more than 200 years by five generations of one family and a pub occupied for more than 100 years by three generations of another.

One of the oldest cottages contains a beam proved to have been felled in the winter of 1457/58. A former vicarage and farm was occupied in the mid-19th century by a gifted tenant farmer who won prizes for his livestock and designed a silver medal for the county agricultural society.

Severn End Mansion was the ancestral home of the Lechmere family since the 12th century. Bonner’s Cottage is reputed to be the birthplace of the notorious Edmund Bonner, Bishop of London.

Those interested in speciality beers may like to finish with a pint at the old style Three Kings Inn.
