A retired sea captain and his daughter must reassess their strained relationship after he begins a new romance with a widowed housekeeper.
Set on the coast of Ireland, frazzled Grace hires a local widow Annie to look after her ageing, obstinate father Howard, a parent who’s always been absent in her life. Things get off to a bad start, but as Howard and Annie bond, Grace finds it impossible to reconcile that someone else is enabling her cussed father to spark into life. The English language debut of Finnish director Härö handles a fraught relationship with sensitivity, giving it space to develop, rather than seeking closure.
