Event Description

Wartime Malvern (1939 – 1945) saw the arrival of many foreign forces and visitors, but perhaps none more flamboyant than the Americans! Five American hospitals were built below Malvern Wells in late 1943 in readiness for the highly secret invasion of Europe in June of the following year. They were intended to receive the American casualties following D-Day. Discover how they were organised and how Malvern townspeople and villagers welcomed and supported the injured men as well as the many medical staff placed here.

Admission is free for Friends of Malvern Museum and visitors are welcome at a charge of £3.

Refreshments are served for a small charge.
