This breathtakingly beautiful meditation on male friendship, childhood connections and our relationship to the landscape is set in the magical Aosta valley.

Pietro and Bruno bond as boys roaming the countryside during an idyllic vacation. Driven apart in their teenage years by family expectations and class constraints, they reconnect, young men now, in the same Alpine village. They set themselves the task of building a shack – and rebuilding their relationship – over the course of a summer. The outcome is rocky. Based on the bestselling 2016 novel by Paolo Cognetti, the film eschews narration for spectacular visual detail in which the ridges and troughs of the mountains speak for lifelong, life-defining friendship.
