SUMMARY:Projectionist's Pick | Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) (12A)
DESCRIPTION:Life of Brian is not a film about the Messiah. Unfortunately for the completely ordinary Brian\, a lot of people end up thinking otherwise in this absurd black comedy from one of Britain’s most iconic comedy troupes. As a result\, Brian finds himself running afoul of Romans and hounded by mistaken followers in a plot that was branded as blasphemous by many religious groups and even banned in several countries\, and then became a hit regardless. \nDirected by: Terry Jones \nCast includes: Graham Chapman\, John Cleese\, Eric Idle \nProjectionist’s Picks are films specially selected by the Regal’s own team of volunteer projectionists.

SUMMARY:Discovering the King’s Thirds (Malvern Walking Festival)
DESCRIPTION:Short of cash in the 1630s\, and at odds with Parliament\, King Charles I introduced many imaginative methods of raising revenue. One of these was the King’s Thirds. The archaeology of the older Shire Ditch may be obvious; much less obvious are the hidden features of the King’s Thirds on the northern Malvern Hills. Discover where the banks and ditches were created in the 1630s and their history. \nExploring the King’s enclosures involves some steep sections.  The very steep sections have easier alternatives which will be indicated on the day so that the group reunites.  3 hours are allowed for this short 3-mile walk\, with plenty of time for stops and explanations as we explore this fascinating area. \n\n£6.00 \n\n\n\nDistance:\n3 miles\n\n\nDuration:\n3 hours\n\n\nDifficulty:\nHard\n\n\nDate:\n19 May\n\n\nStart time:\n2:00 pm\n\n\nWalk leader:\nGeorge Demidowicz\n\n\nStart location:\nMeet at the Interpretation board\, West of England car park\nWR14 4DG\n\n\nGrid reference:\nSO 766448\n\n\nWhat3Words:\nhospitals.contracts.patrolled\n\n\nFurther details:\nCar park is Pay and Display

SUMMARY:British Camp Area – How Geology Shapes the Scenery (Malvern Walking Festival)
DESCRIPTION:The walk goes round the ramparts of British Camp\, looking at the very different views to the east and west of the hills which are shaped by the very different geology and its structure. It visits Clutter’s Cave which was formed when submarine volcanoes erupted 566 million years ago in an island arc\, in contrast to the main rock of the hills which cooled from molten magma deep in the Earth’s crust. On the return we see the effects of the East Malvern Fault which dropped the Severn Valley by 2.5 kilometres relative to the Malvern Hills. \nThere is a steep uphill section at the start of the walk which will be taken very slowly. \n\n£6.00 \n\n\n\nDistance:\n2.5 miles\n\n\nDuration:\n3 hours\n\n\nDifficulty:\nModerate\n\n\nDate:\n19 May\n\n\nStart time:\n2:30 pm\n\n\nWalk leader:\nMoira Jenkins (Herefordshire & Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust)\n\n\nStart location:\nBritish Camp car park where there is a charge for parking.\nA449\nMalvern\,\nWR13 6DW\n\n\nGrid reference:\nSO 763 403\n\n\nWhat3Words:\ntortoises.drill.sandpaper\n\n\nFurther details:\n£6 charge. £3.50 if after 6pm unless you have a resident’s permit.
