SUMMARY:The Christophers (15)
DESCRIPTION:What is the value of art?  Does it reside in personal expression?  Cultural longevity?  Financial worth?  These questions fuel this gloriously entertaining comedy\, directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Ed Solomon. \nA mainstay of the London art scene since his starry breakout in the creative explosion of the 1960s\, Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) has drifted into a cluttered\, self-imposed seclusion.  His two estranged children (James Corden\, Jessica Gunning) enlist Lori (Michaela Coel)\, a young painter and sometime-forger\, to pose as a prospective assistant and gain access to a fabled series of unfinished canvases Julian has buried deep in his home studio\, in a deceptive bid to secure an inheritance for themselves. \nCert:  15\nRunning time:  1hr 40mins\nAD  Audio Description available\nDS  Descriptive Subtitles:  Monday 25 May at 7:15pm and Thursday 4 June at 5pm \nPrices:\nEvenings:  £9.50/£10.50 (Premium seats)\nMornings and matinees:  £8.50/£9.50 (Premium seats)\nConcessions and members discounts apply \nShow Times:\nPlease note:  Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 22 May at 7:15pm\nSaturday 23 May at 7:15pm\nSunday 24 May at 6:30pm\nMonday 25 May at 7:15pm (with DS)\nTuesday 26 May at 7:15pm\nWednesday 27 May at 7:15pm\nFriday 29 May at 7:15pm\nSaturday 30 May at 7:15pm\nSunday 31 May at 6:30pm\nMonday 1 June at 7:15pm\nTuesday 2 June at 11am\, 4:30pm and 7:15pm\nWednesday 3 June at 7:15pm\nThursday 4 June at 5pm (with DS) and 7:45pm

Listeners will be transported to the Spain of Málaga\, Granada\, Córdoba and Jerez on a journey through the diverse cultures of Andalucia. \nJuan weaves a myriad influences from the gypsy culture of Rajasthan in northern India\, to the Byzantine chants plus the Hebraic and Moorish laments of Spain’s colonization of South America – the sounds of Argentina and Cuba also to be found in the rumba\, guajiras and milonga. \nA native of Andalucia\, Juan Martin has recorded twenty albums\, mostly as a composer\, and has played with the Royal Philharmonic and greats like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. He has twice been voted one of the world’s top three exponents by Guitar Player magazine\, and\, extraordinarily\, actually performed for Picasso on his 90th birthday. \nHaywain Bar at 6.30pm\, then the concert starts at 7pm.

SUMMARY:Allegra
DESCRIPTION:From Olivier Award-nominated playwright Peter Quilter (End of the Rainbow\, Glorious!) comes Allegra\, a new heart-warming comedy with music\, starring national treasure Maureen Lipman (BAFTA nominee Pianist\, Coronation Street\, See How They Run\, Educating Rita). \nAllegra is full of the joy of life and has a simply irresistible urge to sing. She is liable to burst into song at home\, in the street\, and even in shops and restaurants. On occasions the music plays only in her imagination\, but quite frequently it spills into real and disruptive performances that cause chaos in her quiet village and amuse\, confuse or frustrate everyone she meets. \nHer brother Ronen and carer Anna attempt to keep her exuberance in check while avoiding angry visits from the local policeman. However\, they face an impossible challenge. How do they go about protecting Allegra without diminishing the happiness and wonder that fill her heart and characterise her spirit? \nMaureen Lipman stars in the title role in this moving comedy with lively musical sequences and lots of laughter. It is also a tender and poignant tale about family\, love and the way even the most beautiful minds can begin to fade away. \nShow times\nMonday 1 June 2026\, 7.30pm\nTuesday 2 June 2026\, 7.30pm\nWednesday 3 June 2026\, 2.30pm\nWednesday 3 June 2026\, 7.30pm\nThursday 4 June 2026\, 7.30pm\nFriday 5 June 2026\, 7.30pm\nSaturday 6 June 2026\, 2.30pm\nSaturday 6 June 2026\, 7.30pm

SUMMARY:Cara Dillon
DESCRIPTION:Few voices linger in the soul quite like Cara’s; she remains a towering figure in Irish music\, consistently lauded as one of the folk genre’s finest interpreters on the global stage\, earning widespread acclaim and countless awards—including the Meteor Award for Best Irish Female\, four BBC Folk Awards (from nine nominations)\, and a Hot Press Award for Best Roots Act\, to name a few. \nAt the heart of her remarkable career is her husband and longtime collaborator\, Sam Lakeman. As producer\, composer\, and performer\, his influence has been pivotal in shaping Dillon’s sound\, allowing the pair to cultivate a musical identity that defies typical pigeonholes—authentic\, distinctive\, and ever evolving. Their enduring partnership has ensured they have remained at the very pinnacle of the folk genre with a body of work that is both timeless and quietly innovative. \n
