The museum is open daily between 10am and 5pm throughout the summer holidays and beyond (until the end of October). \nThroughout the summer holidays (19 July – 1 September 2025)\, join The Quill Quest to help Brother Luke find his lost quills around the museum and solve a puzzle. Free for children; museum entry for adults costs £2.50. \nOn 31 July and 1 August 2025\, come along between 10.30am and 1.30pm for Smelly Habits. Dress up in a monk’s habit and make a herb bag. Spend an hour discovering nature and the world around us through facts\, nature play and exploration through art and crafts. \nNature Makers believe in a co-creation and facilitation approach with guardians supporting children in the best way for their needs. Classes are designed for children aged 6 months – 6 years and will enable them to explore a selection of activities with adult support where required. Adults will also have the chance to get involved and enjoy creating too! DESCRIPTION:To mark National Play Day\, The Firs is inviting families to step into a world of imagination and adventure this summer\, by offering free entry for children for one week during the school holidays: Monday 4 August – Sunday 10 August (The Firs is open 10am – 5pm on Friday\, Saturday\, Sunday and Monday only). Children aged under 18 will enjoy free admission to The Firs\, the birthplace of composer Sir Edward Elgar\, and will have the chance to take part in the enchanting Summer of Play experience. Adults standard admission applies.
