SUMMARY:Live Theatre - Rain or Shine Theatre Present: Murder Most Wilde
DESCRIPTION:Following a highly successful summer tour with Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest\, Rain or Shine Theatre Company is touring Murder Most Wilde in winter 2024\, a new version of Wilde’s comic and quirky tale Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime. It’s a delightfully silly Victorian comedy chock full of muddled murder attempts and comic confusion. \nMeet Lord Arthur Savile – he has wealth\, the best of health\, complete happiness and is engaged to marry his beautiful fiancée Sybil in just three weeks’ time. But his future mother-in-law invites a fortune teller who reads his palm\, declaring “I see blood on your hand”. The scene is set! Savile now believes he is destined to commit a murder\, and to avoid any intrigue or inconvenience to his bride-to-be\, he decides to commit the dastardly deed before the wedding takes place. With murder in the offing\, his hilarious attempts to avert disaster are more hindered than helped by various servants\, assorted relatives\, passing anarchists…and a strong sense of upstanding Victorian duty. \nWhich method will Lord Arthur choose\, to whom\, and will he succeed? \nOur scene is set for an evening of outstanding comedy\, suspense and intrigue!

SUMMARY:An Evening with Jennings
DESCRIPTION:Travel back in time to 1948 and join the Colwall Players as they recreate two of the original BBC radio plays by Anthony Buckeridge all about Jennings and Darbishire and their chums at Linbury Court Preparatory School. \nHow will new boy Jennings avoid a bashing up from Temple and how can Darbishire disguising himself as Edward G Robinson possibly help? How could a missing glove lead to a search party tramping across the Sussex Downs for someone who isn’t really missing? And does Mr Wilkins really hand out 150 million lines\nto any boy who hasn’t done his Latin prep? \nAll this and more will be revealed as we take you into our BBC recording studio and the wonderful world of Jennings. \nAs if that isn’t enough we’re going to give you a genuine school dinner to keep you going in between the two plays. It’ll be wizard muck\, we promise. (And don’t tell Mr Carter but we’ll even have a bar!) \nSo come along for an Evening with Jennings – frantic bishes and super-rare wheezes guaranteed. \nShow times\nThursday 20 February 2025\, 7.30pm\nFriday 21 February 2025\, 7.30pm\nSaturday 22 February 2025\, 7.30pm \nTickets: £15 (£10 for under 16s) – available from Ticketsource online or on 0333 666 3366

SUMMARY:Jack Dee: Small World
DESCRIPTION:Culture wars\, the environment\, British foreign policy and social justice: these are just a few examples of the topics that Jack spectacularly fails to address (or even mention for that matter) in his brand new show\, Small World. Instead\, for reasons known only to him\, he doubles down on his fascination with the meaningless small things of life including Zoom protocol\, what’s new in the world of radiators and the worst careers advice office in the world. \nJoin Jack as he steers you through his varied life and career with his usual charm and well-known gift for talking absolute rubbish on any given subject. \nAge restriction: strictly 14 and above

SUMMARY:MozART Group
DESCRIPTION:The MozART group bring their hilarious twist on classical music to Malvern in 2025. With more than 5 million tickets sold in over fifty countries\, the string quartet has more than just a smattering of humour interwoven amongst the horsehair of their bows. \nHysterical\, even if you don’t know your Mozart from your Bach\, but exquisitely performed if you do! \nAs they explain: “We exist despite the sober formality of great concert halls\, despite the boredom of classical musicians’ life\, despite fanatic lovers of classical music\, despite fans of rock\, rap or pop who are afraid of classical music. We treat our Muse with a humorous irony and we’re sure\, she will have nothing against it!” \nThe MozART Group is in the UK for one week only this year\, and is touring to Malvern Theatres\, so catch the quartet whilst you can!

SUMMARY:Milton Jones: Ha!Milton
DESCRIPTION:This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm\, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it. \nHe has more important things to discuss\, including giraffes…and there’s a bit about tomatoes. \nYou may know him from Mock the Week\, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party\, fought a hard campaign\, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff. \nA whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense.

SUMMARY:Ode to Joyce
DESCRIPTION:Apollo Theatre Company presents\, by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd\, Ode to Joyce: A selection of the songs and monologues of Joyce Grenfell\, adapted and performed by Cheryl Knight and directed by Paul Knight. \nJoyce Grenfell was one of the greatest female entertainers of the twentieth century\, loved all over the world for her hilarious and beautifully observed monologues and songs\, as well as numerous film\, television and radio appearances. Conceived to mark her centenary year and playing to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Festival\, this revue has been delighting theatre-goers ever since. In this gem of nostalgia\, which recreates the setting of one of Joyce’s stage shows\, Cheryl Knight\, starring in her own adaptation\, captures Grenfell’s spirit through the well-known songs and monologues as well as some of her more delicate and poignant pieces.
