SUMMARY:Malvern Big Band - Concert in aid of Malvern Cube
DESCRIPTION:As a local community band\, Malvern Big Band places great value on its developing relationship with Malvern Cube. This unassuming building is an excellent resource for the local community and is run by a few paid staff and a large team of dedicated volunteers. Since MBB first performed at the Cube\, its members have become increasingly aware of how vital it is to many groups in Malvern – not only to performers\, but also to the health and well-being of everyone who participates in one of the many activities there. By the time of this concert in March 2025\, MBB will have performed at the Cube eight times since its first visit in 2021\, so it is\, without a doubt\, the right venue for the band. As a group\, it offers them the best possible combination of performing facilities and audience accommodation. \nMalvern Cube will always need to develop and maintain its facilities. So\, by purchasing a ticket and coming to this concert (or buying a ticket for someone else) you will be helping to secure its future. \nTickets are available from Malvern Cube (buy online) priced at £12 (18 years and under: £6.00; 10 and under: free) or on the door at £14/£7 (cash only please\, no card/contactless facilities available). \nDoors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. \nThis is expected to be a popular event and therefore booking tickets in good time is advisable\, rather than risking buying them on the door. \nRefreshments will be available from the bar throughout the evening (card or cash).

SUMMARY:Wicked (PG)
DESCRIPTION:A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz\, Wicked explores the untold stories of Oz’s most famous (or infamous) characters\, namely the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend\, Glinda the Good Witch. We follow green-skinned star Elphaba from birth to college and through the life-changing events which eventually label her “wicked\,” introducing spoiled rich girl Glinda\, local prince and heartthrob Fiyero and even the Wizard of Oz himself\, a troubled man very different from the one you may remember. As Elphaba\, a passionate political activist if there ever was one\, fights injustice and seeks to redress the mistakes of the past\, dark secrets\, and personal tragedies mould the history of Oz\, paying homage to the well-known Wizard of Oz story while also changing fans’ understanding of it forever. A cautionary tale dealing with themes of love\, friendship\, and trust\, Wicked compellingly demonstrates that there are indeed two sides to every story. \nRunning time: 160 minutes (there will be an interval during this film) \nTickets: £5 (adult) / £2.50 (child) – available by phoning the enquiries number for Clifton on Teme on the Arts Alive website
