DESCRIPTION:OneAchord is a lively locally based folk band playing an interesting range of familiar and less familiar foot-tapping traditional and contemporary folk songs that give the audience the chance to sing along and join in for those who wish to. \nOneAchord was formed in 2017 and performs in local venues and at festivals around Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Most of their songs have great choruses. Their repertoire includes both traditional songs\, such as ‘The Golden Vanity’ and ‘The Mermaid’\, and contemporary songs like ‘Galway Girl’ and ‘Cousin Jack’. \nEarly bird tickets are available at 2 for £20 until end of September; then tickets are £12 in advance or £15 on the door. \nFully-stocked bar available for pre-show and interval drinks (payment by card or cash).

This special programme provides both insight and performance\, offering a deeper appreciations of this iconic work. \nSpeaker Richard Westwood-Brookes will offer a talk exploring the historical context of the concerto\, considering Elgar’s inspiration and answering the question of why this was the final major work of his career. \nFollowing the talk\, guests will be treated to a live performance of the concerto in its cello and piano arrangement\, featuring acclaimed cellist Corinne Frost and pianist Janine Parsons. \nPerformances will be held at 11am and 2pm\, with only 60 seats available per session – so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. \nTickets cost £15 (standard admission charges also apply) and are available to book on the National Trust website.

DESCRIPTION:John Otway is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience thanks to his extensive touring\, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona. \nIn 2016\, Otway announced that he was intending to record a new album. After a successful Kickstarter campaign\, he took his band to the Caribbean island of Montserrat and became the first international recording artist to record there since the Rolling Stones in 1989. The result was Montserrat – the first album of entirely new and original Otway material in over ten years.

SUMMARY:Piano Duo - John Humphreys and Allan Schiller
DESCRIPTION:Allan Schiller and John Humphreys have been performing as a piano duo since 1972 and in 2022 celebrated their 50th anniversary with appearances around the UK\, culminating in a recital at London’s esteemed Wigmore Hall. On 29 November this year they will give their ‘farewell to Wigmore Hall’ recital with a programme of music by Mozart and Schubert\, two composers whose works have featured significantly in their programmes over the decades. \nAdditionally\, they have released CDs of music by Busoni (complete two piano music) and Schubert for Naxos. Moreover\, they’ve featured in BBC Radio 3 broadcasts and have played throughout the UK and\, recently\, in Iceland. In what may be the final time John Humphreys & Allan Schiller appear together at Elmslie House\, this recital comes six days ahead of their final performance at Wigmore Hall. \nProgramme\nMozart Sonata in D major K.381\nSchubert 4 Ländler and Variations on an original theme in Ab\, D\,813\nMozart Sonata in C major\, K.521\nRavel ‘Mother Goose’ suite\nBrahms Hungarian Dances \nDoors will open at 2.30pm ahead of the recital starting at 3pm. DESCRIPTION:Artists\nMark Le Brocq tenor\nwith musicians from London Mozart Players \nProgramme\nSchubert Quartettsatz D.703\nVaughan Williams On Wenlock Edge\nRobert Schumann Piano Quintet \nMark le Brocq won a choral scholarship to St. Catharine’s College\, Cambridge\, where he read English. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Kenneth Bowen and later continued at the National Opera Studio. \nThe London Mozart Players are the oldest\, freshest and most adventurous chamber orchestra in the UK. Established over 75 years ago by Harry Blech to perform the works of Mozart and Haydn\, LMP’s mission has grown into creating bold\, ambitious and accessible musical experiences for all.
