DESCRIPTION:Allan Schiller and John Humphreys have been performing as a piano duo since 1972 and in 2022 celebrated their 50th anniversary with appearances around the UK\, culminating in a recital at London’s esteemed Wigmore Hall. On 29 November this year they will give their ‘farewell to Wigmore Hall’ recital with a programme of music by Mozart and Schubert\, two composers whose works have featured significantly in their programmes over the decades. \nAdditionally\, they have released CDs of music by Busoni (complete two piano music) and Schubert for Naxos. Moreover\, they’ve featured in BBC Radio 3 broadcasts and have played throughout the UK and\, recently\, in Iceland. DESCRIPTION:Written to celebrate the coronation of King George II\, and performed at every subsequent coronation\, Zadok the Priest and The King Shall Rejoice have made their mark on music history as some of the most powerful and evocative works to have been composed for such an occasion. \nComprising eighteen short movements for chorus and soloists\, the Te Deum is one of Handel’s most splendid works\, written to mark King George II’s triumphant return from the Battle of Dettingen in 1743. The concert also features the famous Fireworks Music\, written in 1749 to accompany the royal celebrations for the ending of the War of the Austrian succession.
