SUMMARY:Malvern Big Band Christmas Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Malvern Big Band returns to Malvern Cube for the fifth year in succession with a show combining the best in Big Band Jazz and pop\, and a set of all your Christmas favourites. Special guest vocalists Garry Rutter and Nicole Warfield will be singing classic Jazz\, Soul and Latin hits\, backed by the 17-piece strong Malvern Big Band under the direction of Mike Halliday. \nIn 2026\, the band will mark its 25th anniversary\, having developed over the past quarter-century into one of the finest Big Bands in the Midlands\, performing both classic era swing\, as well as exploring contemporary jazz arrangements. The second set of this performance will be devoted to Christmas classics\, so bring your Santa hats\, and swing into the festive season with the Malvern Big Band! \nTickets: £17 (adult) / £13 (under 18/student) on the door (cash only please\, no card/contactless facilities available) or £15 (adult) / £12 (under 18/student) plus booking fee in advance online at Ticketsource \nDoors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. \nRefreshments will be available from the bar throughout the evening and doors will open around 30 minutes before the start time (card or cash accepted).

DESCRIPTION:The Lodestar Trio is a unique collaboration between Scandinavian folk music stars Erik Rydvall (nyckelharpa)\, Olav Mjelva (hardanger fiddle) and British-German violin virtuoso Max Baillie. As a group they bring a spirit of groove and improvisation into Baroque music by combining traditional Nordic string instruments – the Swedish nyckelharpa and the Norwegian hardanger fiddle – with the violin. \nSince its formation in 2018\, the trio has played at festivals around Europe\, including in Germany\, Switzerland\, Austria\, Norway\, Sweden\, Denmark\, Belgium\, the Netherlands\, Hungary and the UK\, and made its Barbican Centre debut in London in October 2024.
