Using a selection of sumptuous seasonal foliage\, along with natural embellishments\, you’ll decorate a handmade willow base with willow grown at Bonterre farm. DESCRIPTION:Come and join us at Hellens for a day of seasonal craft as we coppice willow from our reed beds and use the withies to fashion beautiful festive wreaths. \nThe day will be divided into two different activities: firstly learning how to coppice willow and finding out about our reed bed system\, then creating wreaths using the cut willow. We will also identify natural materials from the gardens and grounds to adorn and decorate. This is an opportunity to work with us here at Hellens and revel in the beautiful surroundings during the festive season. \nA soup lunch will be provided to warm you and all materials will be here for you (please add any special dietary requirements in the comments box when booking). Bring warm clothes\, some secateurs and plenty of creativity. DESCRIPTION:Who are we?\nMalvern Pastel Artists is a new community art group starting in 2026 meeting fortnightly. We would like to welcome other local pastel artists to create in a relaxed social space. The group is not a tutored class. Open to all abilities\, beginners are welcome to join. There will be some beginner-friendly art materials available for those new to pastels. \nWhat do we mean by pastels?\nWhat we love about pastels is that it’s drawing and painting combined in one – with intense colours closer to the raw pigment than other media. We define pastels as including soft pastels\, hard pastels\, pan pastels\, oil pastels\, charcoal\, graphite\, crayons\, any pencils and stick form media. Many of us are mixed-media artists and combine pastels with other media – watercolour\, for example. \nWhen?\nOne morning and one early evening session each month\, starting on 16 January 2026. (N.B. There is no session scheduled for the first Friday in April 2026\, which is Good Friday.) You are free to choose when to attend via our booking system (up to 20 people per session due to room size): \n\n1st Friday of the month: morning – 9.30am -12 noon\n3rd Friday of the month: evening – 6pm – 8.30 pm\n\nCosts\n£6 annual membership for 2026 (£0.50 a month) and £5 per booked session. DESCRIPTION:Artists and wellbeing specialists Kevin and Mayuri have a joint exhibition in The Book & Cup Cafe at Malvern Library\, starting 31 January through to 27 February 2026 during library opening hours (closed Sundays). \nKevin’s work is abstract and conceptual\, drawing from life’s myriad of experiences to create pieces full of narrative and complexity. \nMayuri’s work draws on her Indian heritage\, using the graphical lines from mehndhi and saree patterns in hand drawn or relief printed works\, exploring nature\, ritual and peace in chaos. \nRhythm & Resonance is a celebration of over 20 years of creativity in its many forms\, including poetry\, prints and paintings\, with both older and newer pieces exhibited. \nNearby the venue is the awesome Priory Park\, so this half term\, take a visit to the cafe for the exhibition\, to explore the books in the library and have a run around in the park: a lovely day out for the kids and you! \nJust a note that the cafe is open for service Monday – Thursday only\, but the exhibition is still open and aligns to the library times.

SUMMARY:Malvern Pastel Artists
DESCRIPTION:Who are we?\nMalvern Pastel Artists is a new community art group starting in 2026 meeting fortnightly. We would like to welcome other local pastel artists to create in a relaxed social space. The group is not a tutored class. Open to all abilities\, beginners are welcome to join. There will be some beginner-friendly art materials available for those new to pastels. \nWhat do we mean by pastels?\nWhat we love about pastels is that it’s drawing and painting combined in one – with intense colours closer to the raw pigment than other media. We define pastels as including soft pastels\, hard pastels\, pan pastels\, oil pastels\, charcoal\, graphite\, crayons\, any pencils and stick form media. Many of us are mixed-media artists and combine pastels with other media – watercolour\, for example. \nWhen?\nOne morning and one early evening session each month\, starting on 16 January 2026. (N.B. There is no session scheduled for the first Friday in April 2026\, which is Good Friday.) You are free to choose when to attend via our booking system (up to 20 people per session due to room size): \n\n1st Friday of the month: morning – 9.30am -12 noon\n3rd Friday of the month: evening – 6pm – 8.30 pm\n\nCosts\n£6 annual membership for 2026 (£0.50 a month) and £5 per booked session. SUMMARY:Fruit Tree Grafting Course
DESCRIPTION:Hellens is hosting a one-day fruit tree grafting course with Tim Andrews from Orchard Revival. \nThis will be a predominantly practical day\, with some theory and demonstrations learning grafting of apple and pear scion wood onto root stock. The course will begin with an introduction to fruit tree grafting\, followed by a practical session collecting scion wood from the collection of heritage perry pear trees within the grounds at Hellens.
