DESCRIPTION:After a highly successful debut in 2024\, ‘The Spirit of Malvern’ En Plein Air Painting Competition for semi-professional and professional artists returns in 2025. \nOffering a main prize of £1100\, runner-up prize of £500\, plus three additional prizes of £120 each for best urbanscape\, best landscape and best wildcard entry (this can be anything – so surprise the judges!)\, this competition is sure to attract entrants from far and wide to the beautiful Victorian spa town of Malvern and its stunning hills. \n2025’s bigger and expanded event hopes to capture the landscapes and character of the town and its surrounding designated National Landscape. Even if you are new to Malvern\, we are sure our distinctive location will inspire you to create something that captures your sense of ‘The Spirit of Malvern’. \nBring your materials and create an artwork on the day\, show in the pop-up exhibition with a chance to win a prize\, and sell to our many visitors. \nIf you live in a WR postcode area\, you are also eligible to be judged for the postcode prize. \nPlease visit the website for full details and booking links (entry fee applies). \nArtists must start and end the day at Malvern Theatres\, but can choose their own location (within the area covered by the competition rules) at which to paint. \nEven if you are not an artist\, why not come along to enjoy the awarding of prizes in the Forum Theatre from 3.45pm – 4pm\, followed by the pop-up exhibitions immediately afterwards until 5pm.

The gallery is also home to the studio of Gallery Director Alison Simons\, where visitors can witness the creation of her fluid acrylic paintings.
