DESCRIPTION:Malvern’s annual walking festival returns\, running from Saturday 16 May to Monday 25 May 2026\, with more than 60 walks over 10 days with all sorts of topics\, lengths and difficulty. \nAs in previous years\, the choice is wide\, from short local strolls to long distance multi-day walks and including morning\, afternoon\, evening and all-day walks. \nEach walk is graded\, from gentle to strenuous\, so no one need let themselves in for more (or less) than they can handle. \nVisit the Malvern Walking Festival website for more information (full details walks for the 2026 Festival will be available to view and to book from 19th January).

SUMMARY:Ledbury & Eastnor Circular (Malvern Walking Festival)
DESCRIPTION:A morning circular ramble\, back in time for lunch. From the railway station we meander through the streets of Ledbury before a 100 metre ascent through the woods & farmland to reach a panoramic view of Eastnor Castle\, the Obelisk and the line of the Malvern Hills. We follow a farm track downhill to the red sandstone church of St. John the Baptist in Eastnor before striking out on a bridleway soon passing Eastnor Pottery and a gentle wander through fields and woods to join a stony track before reaching the road back into Ledbury. Whilst there are no stiles to cross there is a fairly steep ascent through the woods at the start to get from the Ledbury town centre to the panoramic view point at 170 metres. DESCRIPTION:A circular walk taking in a central section of the Malvern Hills and returning through rolling Herefordshire countryside. We will visit the Worcestershire Beacon and the medieval churches at Cradley and Mathon. There will be a gentle introduction to the geology of the area and how that has shaped the landscape. There will be plenty of time to check out the show of Spring flowers and listen to the birdsong! DESCRIPTION:Starting at the Florence Nightingale bench in Church Street\, this is an entertaining and informative circular walk around Great Malvern led by a Civic Society guide. The emphasis will be on the town’s varied cultural history\, as well as its role as a centre for the controversial Water Cure in the 19th Century. We’ll hear about such artistic luminaries as Sir Edward Elgar\, Dame Laura Knight\, George Bernard Shaw\, Jenny Lind\, Evelyn Waugh\, CS Lewis and Elizabeth Barret Browning and their connections to Malvern. Plus how the Water Cure attracted the great and the good to this small Worcestershire town\, and how it was the starting point for one of Victorian England’s greatest scandals! Duration: approx 90 minutes. The route will include The Priory\, Belle Vue Terrace\, The Unicorn\, Dr Gully and Dr Wilson’s Water Cure Establishments and Priory Park. Due to the hilly nature of the town this is sadly not suitable for those with mobility issues. Includes one steep descent down steps. SUMMARY:Evening Walk up to Worcester Beacon (Malvern Walking Festival)
DESCRIPTION:Leaving from Plateau car park (Jubilee Drive) \, we will walk up to Worcester Beacon. There are spectacular views both across the Severn Valley and on the West side across to Wales. The footpaths are good but there is quite an incline to get to the top of the Beacon so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
