DESCRIPTION:Please note: this event has been cancelled in 2026\, but will return on 4 September 2027 \nBack for its 14th year\, right here at Eastnor Castle\, Firework Champions returns with four great firework displays! Three of the UK’s best firework companies face off with a 10-minute spectacular firework display choreographed to music followed by a breath-taking\, huge finale display. The types of fireworks being used by the companies are unlike any material used for fireworks available to the general public. They use category 4 fireworks\, which are only for professional use and the biggest available in the UK. \nAfter gazing at the illuminating fireworks and lasers\, watching all the teams battle for the Fireworks Champions title\, the audience has all the power in their hands (through their mobile phone) to decide the winner. How exciting! Texts will be charged at normal rates and a limit of one vote per number is in place. Surrounded by the peaceful countryside and the estate’s gardens\, the room provides a calm and inspiring setting for learning traditional baking skills. \nThese sessions are led by Aleksandra\, head baker and pastry chef at Malvern Bakehouse\, who shares her knowledge of artisan bread\, sourdough fermentation\, and East European baking and food traditions. Aleksandra’s background is rooted in a family of millers and farmers\, with a strong connection to the land. Sourdough bread was a regular part of family life\, and this influence continues to shape her approach to baking today. \nWorkshops are hands-on and intended to provide participants with a real understanding of working with dough – from mixing and fermentation to shaping and baking. \nDuring the workshop you will learn the essential principles of working with natural fermentation and gain a clear understanding of the sourdough process. Aleksandra will guide you through the key techniques used in artisan baking\, including starter preparation\, understanding ratios and leaven\, mixing the dough\, shaping\, scoring and baking. \nBecause the full sourdough process – mixing the dough\, bulk fermentation\, shaping\, second proving\, scoring and baking – normally takes around 36 hours\, part of the preparation will be completed in advance.
