DESCRIPTION:Malvern Town Council’s annual Music in the Park programme begins on Sunday 10 May 2026\, with concerts due to take place every Sunday at 2.30pm until 13 September in Priory Park. SUMMARY:Dementia Friendly Concert – DownsideUp
DESCRIPTION:DownsideUp is a string duo made up of Corinne Frost (cello) and Stephen Warner (double bass). \nESO’s dementia-friendly concerts are representative of their ethos as musicians and performers. The musicians benefit from many years of experience in this field and are committed to bringing their talents to members of society who are living with dementia and other debilitating conditions. \nOn arrival\, ESO musicians are able to assess the mood and level of engagement of their audience and adapt their choice of music accordingly. Lasting around an hour\, all the concerts are very interactive events with informal chatter\, and audiences are encouraged to join in if they wish – this frequently leads to foot tapping\, clapping\, singing and dancing! \nAdmission to the concert is free\, but advance booking is recommended.

SUMMARY:Hanley Swan Village Show & Car Boot 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Hanley Swan Village Show has been running since August 1862\, when the first Hanley Castle Horticultural and Flower Show was organised by the gentry of Hanley Castle parish. The aim was ‘to encourage horticulture among the cottagers\, and to stimulate them to neatness and order not only in their gardens but their households’. \nOver a century-and-a-half later\, it still takes place each year in August\, but it is now organised by local volunteers. Entry is open to all amateurs living in or around the parish. \nStaging of entries takes place on Friday 28 August from 3pm to 5pm and on Saturday 29 August from 8.30am to 10am. The show is then closed between 10am and 1.30pm for judging\, before opening to the public from 1.30pm – 5pm. Awards are presented at 4pm and raffle prizes at 4.30pm. \nAccess to the car boot field is from 12pm onwards and costs £10 per car\, payable in cash on the day\, but sellers must pre-register by completing the online form no later than 5pm the day before the show (Friday) and must remain on site until 4pm on the show day. \nThere will also be a variety of stalls selling hand-made items\, plants and food. \nPlus\, Single Reeds\, a wind-based band from Malvern\, will be performing a range of music from light entertainment through to Big Band sounds\, popular light classical pieces and classic pop\, outside the village hall from 2pm. \nAdmission to the show is free.

SUMMARY:Guided Tour of Great Malvern Station (Heritage Open Days)
DESCRIPTION:Great Malvern is fortunate to have one of the best preserved stations in the country; it has recently benefited from a major refurbishment. \nGreat Malvern station was opened by the Worcester and Hereford Railway in 1860 and the present buildings\, by architect Edmund Wallace Elmslie\, were completed in 1862. The Midland Railway and the London and North Western Railway collaborated on the construction cost; the solicitor\, Samuel Carter\, was also solicitor to both of these major companies. It was later absorbed by the Great Western Railway. \nLocal landowner Lady Emily Foley was a key sponsor of the building of the station. She had a waiting room made for her exclusive use at Great Malvern Station. \nThe station celebrated its 150th birthday on 23 May 2010 with the unveiling of a plaque and a special train. DESCRIPTION:Exhibition about the history of Callow End Village Hall\, marking its centenary in 2026. \nCallow End Village Hall is marking a century at the centre of village life. In 1924\, the Earl Beauchamp gifted a site in the village to the villagers to build a meeting hall. DESCRIPTION:The National Trust is offering free entry to Croome from Monday 14 September – Friday 18 September 2026 inclusive (9am – 5pm daily)\, including house and garden tours and a sneak peek inside the Panorama Tower (Wednesday only)\, which is usually closed to the public.
