SUMMARY:Hanley Swan Open Gardens 2026
DESCRIPTION:A very popular annual event to raise money for Hanley churches\, running over three days from Saturday 2 – Monday 4 May 2026 (open 12pm – 5pm daily). \nHanley Swan is an idyllic English village\, with all the requisite hallmarks – a green\, a pond with a paddling of ducks and Harold the heron\, a royal-sized oak\, ‘The Swan’\, shops and vibrant businesses – all embraced by the fabulous Malvern Hills\, and most importantly\, an affable group of enthusiastic gardeners\, anxious to welcome you to their pride and joys. \nOver the first weekend in May\, the garden owners warmly invite you to share in their good fortune and join the annual ‘Garden Party’. \nIn 2026\, 15 gardens will be open\, spread around the extended village – once updated\, see the website for a map. \nTickets: £7.50 (free for children) to cover all 3 days (can be purchased on the day from any participating garden) \nPlant sales from various gardens\, toilets at The Grange and Brummel Court\, light lunches/cream teas at The Grange\, and cream teas in the church (St Gabriel’s). \nParking at St Gabriel’s Church and The Grange.

DESCRIPTION:The Dell House has a spectacular two-acre wooded hillside garden. It is a former Victorian rectory garden containing magnificent specimen trees and historic garden buildings\, and more recent additions of tree carvings and a model railway\, with trains running (weather permitting). Enjoy the great views from the terrace with refreshments. \nIt has been revived from a derelict state by the current owners over ten years; opening up previously inaccessible areas\, adding a level paved terrace and paths and a range of thrilling tree carvings. It is now a mature garden\, natural in style and rich in variety. \nThe garden is open from 11am – 5pm\, with tours at 11.15am. Pre-booking is only essential if you need a parking space.

The garden exudes a quirky and humorous character with the odd surprise\, including a thriving example the world’s rarest tree and even a Shed of the Year Runner Up. A built in reclaimed cast iron range with Victorian tiled surround complete with vintage kitchenalia provides an unusual take on an outdoor kitchen! On 3 May\, the annual Plant Bonanza will take place at neighbouring garden ‘Maranatha’ in aid of the St Laurence Church.
