DESCRIPTION:Apollo Theatre Company presents\, by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd\, Ode to Joyce: A selection of the songs and monologues of Joyce Grenfell\, adapted and performed by Cheryl Knight and directed by Paul Knight. \nJoyce Grenfell was one of the greatest female entertainers of the twentieth century\, loved all over the world for her hilarious and beautifully observed monologues and songs\, as well as numerous film\, television and radio appearances. Conceived to mark her centenary year and playing to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Festival\, this revue has been delighting theatre-goers ever since. In this gem of nostalgia\, which recreates the setting of one of Joyce’s stage shows\, Cheryl Knight\, starring in her own adaptation\, captures Grenfell’s spirit through the well-known songs and monologues as well as some of her more delicate and poignant pieces.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening in the company of this excellent six-piece band to celebrate the British Blues explosion of the ’60s. \nFrom BB King to John Mayall\, from Muddy Waters to Peter Green: The Classic Blues Show recreates the real sound of British Blues musicians and the artists who were their inspiration. \nThis band of experienced musicians has its roots all firmly anchored in the blues. This is the blues of not just the Delta\, Chicago\, and elsewhere in the USA but also the blues of Ealing\, Dartford and wherever else formed the British Blues Boom of the 1960s and beyond. \nTight rhythm section\, swinging horns\, driving guitar riffs and quality vocals ensure that this is a show to remember. Revel in the music and stories from those lucky enough to have been there – and feel the blues come alive. \nDoors and bar open at 7pm (arrive early – limited seating/plenty of standing)\, then the show starts at 8pm.
