SUMMARY:Ballade: A Solo Piano Recital by Tim Sidford
DESCRIPTION:Tim Sidford will give a solo piano recital at Christ Church in Malvern on Sunday 22 October at 3pm in aid of Cancer Research UK. \nTim is a concert performer who trained at the Royal College of Music and has played at many prestigious venues including London’s Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room. Since moving to Malvern\, he has taught piano and violin in schools and privately. \nThe programme includes a sonata by Haydn\, and one of Chopin’s greatest masterpieces\, the First Ballade. It also features new pieces by local composer Daniel Botting\, including the premiere of his own ‘Ballade’. Daniel’s music is greatly inspired by the landscape and rich cultural history of Malvern: “Elgar’s music is in the air\, and these pieces are very influenced by the Late Romantic Style. But I always look for fresh ways of combining styles\, to create an emotional journey in sound.” \nProgramme\nHaydn Sonata in C Hob. XVI/50\nDaniel Botting A selection of music in the Romantic style\, including ‘Ballade’\nChopin Ballade No. 1 Op. 23 \nTickets\n£10 (adults) / £2 (under 18s) – available on the door\, with all proceeds to Cancer Research UK and Christ Church \nRefreshments will be available after the recital.
