DESCRIPTION:Quattro String Quartet – made up of Eleanor Percy (violin)\, Sarah Wormell-Evans (violin)\, Tamasin Cline (viola) and Bryony Moody (cello) – will be at Elmslie House on 8 October 2023 to give an afternoon recital. \nQuattro String Quartet is a professional ensemble that has performed together for over two decades. Based in London and the south of England\, they have given many recitals across the UK. \nThey are all experienced chamber and orchestral musicians and teachers\, working with orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra\, BBC Concert Orchestra\, Philharmonia\, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Welsh National Opera. They have performed at leading international venues such as the Royal Albert Hall\, Royal Festival Hall\, the Barbican Centre and the Wigmore Hall. \nJoin them at Elmslie House for an afternoon of beautiful string music\, including well-known and much-loved works\, introduced by the performers. \nDoors will open at 2.30pm for tea and cake to be purchased before the recital begins\, and there will be another opportunity at 4pm\, after the recital finishes. Refreshments will provided from 7pm\, included in the charge of £3 for members and £5 for non-members.\n\nA Literary Trail Around the Malverns\n\nSpeaker: Mary Constable LGSM \nMary originally wrote a guide in 1996 to the many literary connections around the Malvern Hills area\, which was then used a a basis by Malvern Hills AONB for a later publication which changed the emphasis to reflect the various authors’ relationships with the landscape. \nMary ran the Speech and Drama Department at Malvern College from 1991\, lives in West Malvern\, and contributes to the Ledbury Poetry Festival.

Expect to hear such composers as S S Wesley\, Pearsall\, Parry\, Rutter and Elgar\, as well as pieces and arrangements especially written by Piers Maxim himself!
