DESCRIPTION:Exhibition opens Friday 29 May and runs until Saturday 26 September 2026 \nIn collaboration with the Malvern Theatre Players\, this exhibition will combine the museum’s collection with costume. \nWith the recent success of other exhibitions at the V&A focusing on Mary Antoinette\, both the real woman and the 2006 film\, we take a closer at look at why this period is so often romanticised. \nFrom extreme silhouette to powered wigs\, why can’t we get enough of 18th century fashion? \nThe Museum of Fashion Malvern is open every Friday and Saturday\, 10am – 4pm.

DESCRIPTION:Fashion\, always looking for new ways to reinvent itself: hanging onto the coat-tails of ‘high art’\, theatre. What better way than through a free fashion show and surrounding publicity in both theatre and fashion media\, whether opera\, dance or dramatic intervention? The performance gains too\, through updating sometimes moribund works\, giving them a contemporary edge. And of course fashion shows are performances in their own right\, with the audience being an integral part of the show. To see and be seen. Strutting your stuff. SUMMARY:Malvern Pastel Artists
DESCRIPTION:Who are we?\nMalvern Pastel Artists is a new community art group starting in 2026 meeting fortnightly. We would like to welcome other local pastel artists to create in a relaxed social space. The group is not a tutored class. Open to all abilities\, beginners are welcome to join. There will be some beginner-friendly art materials available for those new to pastels. \nWhat do we mean by pastels?\nWhat we love about pastels is that it’s drawing and painting combined in one – with intense colours closer to the raw pigment than other media. We define pastels as including soft pastels\, hard pastels\, pan pastels\, oil pastels\, charcoal\, graphite\, crayons\, any pencils and stick form media. Many of us are mixed-media artists and combine pastels with other media – watercolour\, for example. \nWhen?\nOne morning and one early evening session each month\, starting on 16 January 2026. (N.B. There is no session scheduled for the first Friday in April 2026\, which is Good Friday.) You are free to choose when to attend via our booking system (up to 20 people per session due to room size): \n\n1st Friday of the month: morning – 9.30am -12 noon\n3rd Friday of the month: evening – 6pm – 8.30 pm\n\nCosts\n£6 annual membership for 2026 (£0.50 a month) and £5 per booked session.
