It ends with Debussy’s Petit Suite\, also for piano duet. The solo repertoire features Martin James Bartlett playing Beethoven’s celebrated Sonata Pathetique Op.13 and Mariam Batsashvili in Liszt’s electrifying Spanish Rhapsody. \nThe evening opens with two duet arrangements of movements from Bach’s Cantatas: the opening Sonatina from BWV 106 and Sheep May Safely Graze from BWV 208.

DESCRIPTION:Dubbed by BBC Radio 2 presenter Mark Radcliffe ‘the Stevie Nicks of Folk’\, the south-west-based singer/songwriter Alex Hart has recently released Visions\, her most exciting and anticipated album to date. \nAt 18\, Alex was noticed by producer Neil Stainton who honed her talent\, worked with her during her early career and co-wrote and recorded her debut album On This Day (2014). \nAlex also worked closely with musician and songwriter Barney Dine from Torbay with whom she co-wrote many songs from this album\, songs afterwards and gigged extensively. During this spell\, she was able to grow as a musician and perfect her craft. She has sung at the Aldeburgh\, Edinburgh\, Lucerne\, Salzburg and Tanglewood Festivals and the BBC Proms where\, in 2009\, she was a soloist at the Last Night. \nMalcolm Martineau OBE has performed with singers including Sir Thomas Allen\, Dame Janet Baker\, Florian Boesch\, Elīna Garanča\, Dame Sarah Connolly\, Angela Gheorghiu\, Susan Graham\, Thomas Hampson\, Sir Simon Keenlyside\, Angelika Kirchschlager\, Dame Felicity Lott\, Anne Sofie von Otter\, Günther Groissböck and Sonya Yoncheva.
