DESCRIPTION:Madresfield Court\, situated within the Madresfield Estate at the foot of the Malvern Hills\, is a moated stately home that has been in the Lygon family for over 900 years and is currently home to its 29th generation. \nThe house played a significant part in nurturing the Arts and Crafts movement and contains a fine collection of paintings\, furniture and ceramics. It also has a rich history\, with both Edward Elgar and Evelyn Waugh having been frequent visitors. \nThe house and beautiful grounds are open to welcome visitors at various times throughout the year. Access to the house and gardens is by guided tour only and tickets must be pre-booked online. \nThe Madresfield Estate also hosts several popular events throughout the year within the grounds of the Court. \n2026 season details\nThe 2026 tour season at Madresfield Court runs from 22 April until 27 June\, plus 29 July – 1 August inclusive. \nTours generally run on Wednesdays\, Thursdays and Fridays (with some exceptions and the occasional Saturday). \nOn each open day\, four tours will run\, with each tour taking a maximum of fifteen people aged 16 and over. SUMMARY:History of RAF Defford Walk
DESCRIPTION:A walk through Croome Park reveals the way in which RAF Defford changed the 18th century landscape created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Along the way\, there are tales of an extraordinary airfield waiting to be told. \nThis secret airbase was where Radar was installed in the aircraft of the Telecommunications Research Establishment (TRE) and tested and developed to help win the Second World War. DESCRIPTION:Join Charles from Malvern Town Council on 11 June 2026 as we commemorate ‘Love Your Burial Ground Week’\, which has been running as part of God’s Green Acre. Discover the rich history of the cemetery\, hearing tales and behind-the-scenes information that only the MTC operations manager\, Charles\, would know. The tour will take place across the cemetery\, exploring both old and new as well as explaining how God’s Green Acre fits into all this. \nTickets\n£5 per person (limited availability) – available via the Malvern Town Council website\nPlease note that you will book your ticket via the website\, and this will reserve your place; all monies will be taken on the day of the tour. \n(All money raised will go to the mayoral charity 2026/27.) \nAll attendees must dress appropriately and wear suitable footwear (closed-toe shoes must be worn with no heels allowed). \nThe meeting point for the cemetery tour will be in car park which can be accessed off Madresfield Road.
