SUMMARY:Guided Tour of Great Malvern Priory
DESCRIPTION:Come and explore the fascinating history and unique treasures of Great Malvern Priory from its Norman origins to the present day. Discover more about the glories of this architectural gem\, with its beautiful stained glass\, medieval tiles and misericords. \nThere are guided tours most Saturday mornings at 11am and occasionally at 2pm (or very occasionally at other times). Please check the Priory Church calendar to confirm that a tour is going ahead on the day of your visit. \nDonations are welcomed and all money from the tours goes towards the ongoing repairs and restoration of the Priory building and the medieval glass windows. \nIn addition to the scheduled Saturday tours\, groups tours are available by prior arrangement on any day between 9am and 5pm as long as the Priory is not being used for another event. For these tours\, a small charge of £5 per person is made. Please visit the Friends of Malvern Priory website for more information and booking details.

Along the way\, explore Victorian architecture\, Great Malvern Priory\, connections to composer Edward Elgar\, and sites celebrated through Malvern’s many blue plaques\, commemorating notable residents and visitors. \nWhether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong resident\, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Malvern’s cultural and historical legacy. \nDates and times\nThe 90-minute tours operate every Saturday and Monday from April 2026 to October 2026\, except 13 July and 12 September\, starting at 10.30am from Malvern Tourist Information Centre on Church Street (contact: 01684 892289). \nAll walks are subject to guide availability. \nTickets\nThe cost is £7 for adults; 14 – 16 year olds go free. \nTickets are available online via TicketSource or at the Malvern Tourist Information Centre. Along the way\, explore Victorian architecture\, Great Malvern Priory\, connections to composer Edward Elgar\, and sites celebrated through Malvern’s many blue plaques\, commemorating notable residents and visitors. \nWhether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong resident\, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Malvern’s cultural and historical legacy. \nDates and times\nThe 90-minute tours operate every Saturday and Monday from April 2026 to October 2026\, except 13 July and 12 September\, starting at 10.30am from Malvern Tourist Information Centre on Church Street (contact: 01684 892289). \nAll walks are subject to guide availability. \nTickets\nThe cost is £7 for adults; 14 – 16 year olds go free. \nTickets are available online via TicketSource or at the Malvern Tourist Information Centre. If Ticketsource shows ‘sold out’\, more tickets may be available. \nPlease book in advance to avoid disappointment. DESCRIPTION:Come and explore the fascinating history and unique treasures of Great Malvern Priory from its Norman origins to the present day. Discover more about the glories of this architectural gem\, with its beautiful stained glass\, medieval tiles and misericords. \nThere are guided tours most Saturday mornings at 11am and occasionally at 2pm (or very occasionally at other times). Please check the Priory Church calendar to confirm that a tour is going ahead on the day of your visit. \nDonations are welcomed and all money from the tours goes towards the ongoing repairs and restoration of the Priory building and the medieval glass windows. \nIn addition to the scheduled Saturday tours\, groups tours are available by prior arrangement on any day between 9am and 5pm as long as the Priory is not being used for another event. Tours are held every Wednesday at 11am and every Thursday at 2pm from March to October. \nThe tour begins near reception and finishes at the house. \nEach tour lasts about 60 minutes and covers approximately one-and-a-half miles on hard surfaced paths in the garden. \nAll tours are subject to volunteer availability; if volunteers are not available\, guided tours may not go ahead. \nTours are free and booking is not needed\, but normal admission charges apply for the venue (free for NT members).
