SUMMARY:Emmeline Pankhurst – Angel or Anarchist?
DESCRIPTION:On a Role Theatre Company presents Emmeline Pankhurst – Angel or Anarchist?\, written by Chris Jaeger and starring Liz Grand \nEmmeline Pankhurst is one of the most influential and well-known British women ever to have lived. She fought tirelessly to win the vote for women. She was imprisoned on a number of occasions and frequently went on hunger strike. Having failed to make any impression on the male electorate and parliamentarians for nearly three decades\, she became a strong proponent of Direct Action. The suffragettes threw stones at politicians\, set fire to letter boxes\, torched buildings\, chained themselves to railings\, and threw themselves under horses. \nAlthough they were eventually successful\, many suffragettes suffered terribly during the campaign. Emmeline had her critics. Many people were of the opinion that\, had the suffragettes been less confrontational\, the franchise would have been extended to women much earlier. They regarded Emmeline as someone who had hindered the fight rather than helped it. But what was the truth? \nThis production stars Liz Grand (previous shows The Second Best Bed\, Where Is Mrs\, Christie?\, Mrs. Churchill – My Life With Winston and The Secret Life of Enid Blyton)\, who brilliantly portrays this complex\, courageous and visionary woman. \nShow times\nSaturday 25 July 2026\, 3pm\nSaturday 25 July 2026\, 7pm\nSunday 26 July 2026\, 3pm

SUMMARY:I’m Sorry Prime Minister
DESCRIPTION:From the BAFTA Award-winning co-creator of Yes\, Minister and Yes\, Prime Minister\, Jonathan Lynn\, comes the long-awaited final chapter of British political satire – and it is as cunning\, cutting\, and catastrophically funny as ever. \nJim Hacker is back – older\, though possibly not wiser\, and still completely baffled by the real world. Planning for a stress-free retirement at the tranquil Hacker College\, Oxford\, Jim instead finds himself contending with the ultimate 21st century crisis: cancelled by the college committee. \nEnter the delightfully devious Sir Humphrey Appleby who has lost none of his love for bureaucracy\, Latin phrases\, and well-timed obstruction. \nCan Humphrey outmanoeuvre the meddling students\, the Fellowship\, and reality itself? \nFull of razor-sharp wit\, nostalgic brilliance\, and more double-speak than a press briefing\, this is political comedy at its most timeless – and timely. \nShow times\nTuesday 28 July 2026\, 7.30pm\nWednesday 29 July 2026\, 2.30pm\nWednesday 29 July 2026\, 7.30pm\nThursday 30 July 2026\, 2.30pm\nThursday 30 July 2026\, 7.30pm\nFriday 31 July 2026\, 7.30pm\nSaturday 1 August 2026\, 2.30pm\nSaturday 1 August 2026\, 7.30pm
