When her confidante and former governess\, Miss Taylor\, marries Mr Weston\, Emma\, having introduced the pair\, takes credit for the success and decides that a future in matchmaking lies before her. \nThus begins a comic journey through the lives and loves of the eponymous character’s friends and neighbours\, depicting the burgeoning Regency social scene of Bath and Weymouth.
