SUMMARY:The Bobby Kennedy Experience
DESCRIPTION:Written & performed by Russell Lucas\nDirected by Sarah-Louise Young \nJFK has been shot. What now? \nThe Bobby Kennedy Experience studies the life of the most famous man never to become President. \nRobert Francis Kennedy\, or ‘Bobby’ as he was affectionately known\, was the younger brother of the most famous US President ever: John F. Kennedy (JFK). \nOften referred to as the ‘runt’ of the Kennedy litter and the one least likely to succeed\, Bobby would go on to prove himself to be a formidable force in America\, as not only did he pick up the Kennedy project after his brother was brutally murdered\, he emerged out of the political wilderness and crusaded for civil rights\, climate change\, alternative fuels and\, finally\, for the American Presidency itself. But fate had a cruel plan for Bobby… \nUsing movement\, text\, music\, video\, direct audience address and historical moments\, The Bobby Kennedy Experience addresses the biggest debates of the 1960s: Vietnam\, civil rights\, gun control and\, of course\, Martin Luther King. \nTickets: £10 plus booking fee – book online at Ticketsource

SUMMARY:The Return (Workshop) (FEAST)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop led by Natasha Stanic Mann. \nWithin the framework of ‘The Return’\, a one-woman show about the intergenerational effects of war\, we developed a workshop based on the themes we are exploring in the piece – living through a war\, leaving one’s country\, and building a new life and a sense of belonging. Through drama games\, improvisation and devising techniques\, workshop participants get a taste of what goes into dramatising life experience. Participants work in groups and use stimuli including objects\, images or poems to devise stories and make performances. \nThis workshop provides a safe environment for the participants to take risks and experiment with something new. It encourages participants to explore their creative potential and share stories. The collaborative nature of the workshop nurtures interpersonal skills\, promotes teamwork and communication\, and develops a sense of community. \nTickets: £5 plus booking fee – book online at Ticketsource

SUMMARY:Bah Humbug!
DESCRIPTION:On a Role Theatre Company presents Bah Humbug!\, written by Kit Hunter and starring Liz Grand & Katherine Parker-Jones. \nJoanne is very rich but all alone on Christmas Eve. She hates Christmas with a passion and explains at length what is wrong with it. She eventually nods off and awakes to find a woman in her flat. She has no idea how she got in\, who she is\, or what she wants. On the other hand\, the woman seems to know a great deal about Joanne and her family and her somewhat murky past. \nThis bittersweet comedy brings a modern interpretation of the Scrooge experience and is guaranteed to make the audience both laugh and cry. \nRecommended 14+ due to strong language. \nShow times\nFriday 29 November 2024\, 7pm\nSaturday 30 November 2024\, 3pm\nSaturday 30 November 2024\, 7pm
