SUMMARY:Rhythm & Resonance: Hargest Creative Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Artists and wellbeing specialists Kevin and Mayuri have a joint exhibition in The Book & Cup Cafe at Malvern Library\, starting 31 January through to 27 February 2026 during library opening hours (closed Sundays). \nKevin’s work is abstract and conceptual\, drawing from life’s myriad of experiences to create pieces full of narrative and complexity. \nMayuri’s work draws on her Indian heritage\, using the graphical lines from mehndhi and saree patterns in hand drawn or relief printed works\, exploring nature\, ritual and peace in chaos. \nRhythm & Resonance is a celebration of over 20 years of creativity in its many forms\, including poetry\, prints and paintings\, with both older and newer pieces exhibited. \nNearby the venue is the awesome Priory Park\, so this half term\, take a visit to the cafe for the exhibition\, to explore the books in the library and have a run around in the park: a lovely day out for the kids and you! \nJust a note that the cafe is open for service Monday – Thursday only\, but the exhibition is still open and aligns to the library times.

SUMMARY:Meditation and Buddhism Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Adhisthana to meditate with others and develop your ability to work creatively with your mind. You can either learn to meditate from scratch and develop the foundations for a daily practice or join the regulars to build on what you know and discover how to apply yourself effectively in meditation. \nAs of December 2025\, classes are being held on Mondays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm and are open to participants of all levels of experience. Please note there is no class on 22 or 29 December 2025. \nYou are welcome to arrive 15 minutes before the start. You’ll be greeted at the entrance by someone who will direct you where to go and help you with any queries. \nThe class takes place in a room on the first floor and is\, as a consequence\, unfortunately not accessible. \nIn the first half of the session\, we meditate together; this is followed by a tea break. In the second half\, we learn about the teachings of the Buddha with the chance to engage in discussion and ask questions. \nThe class is led by a team of members of the Triratna Buddhist Order and those who are training for ordination. \nIf you would like more information\, you can call Adhisthana on 01531 641726 or email us (otherwise just turn up!).

SUMMARY:28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (18)
DESCRIPTION:28 Years Later: The Bone Temple expands upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but in this latest film\, directed by Nia DaCosta\, that world is turned on its head. \nIn a continuation of the epic story\, Dr Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape.  In the world of The Bone Temple\, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying. \nCert:  18\nAD:  Audio Description available \nPrices:\nEvenings:  £9/£10 (Premium seats)\nMornings and matinees:  £8/£9 (Premium seats)\nConcessions and members discounts apply \nShow Times:\nPlease note:  Film starts at advertised time\nFriday 13 February at 7:15pm\nSaturday 14 February at 7:15pm\nTuesday 17 February at 7:15pm\nWednesday 18 February at 7:15pm\nThursday 19 February at 5pm

SUMMARY:February Half-Term: Create Your Own Wassail Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Recreate an ancient winter tradition and hold your own lively Wassail Celebration in the orchard at Elgar’s Birthplace — a cheerful\, spirited gathering rooted in centuries of folklore and festivity. ‘Wassail’ derives from the Old English phrase ‘waes hæl\,’ which means ‘be well’ or ‘good health’. Historically\, communities would unite in the darkest months of winter to bless their orchards\, deter mischievous spirits\, and encourage a bountiful harvest in the coming year. From singing and dancing to making joyful noise\, wassailing was a means of waking the trees from their winter slumber and inviting prosperity for the season to come. \nIn traditional wassailing\, noise drives away bad spirits – use pots and pans and help fill the orchard with merriment! Raise your voices and sing a traditional Wassail song to celebrate warmth\, community\, and the promise of spring. Hang toast on your favourite fruit tree as a symbol of gratitude and to encourage a fruitful harvest. \nWhether you’re continuing a tradition or discovering a new one\, creating your own Wassail Celebration is an unforgettable way to brighten the winter and spread good cheer to all—trees included! \nCome back and visit The Firs during the Easter and Blossom celebrations to see whether your Wassail has worked! \nThis event is free\, but normal admission charges apply.
