SUMMARY:Pages from Nature: Walk through the Pleasure Grounds
DESCRIPTION:Purchase a booklet inspired by the 1824 guidebook to Croome\, the Hortus Croomensis\, to explore the garden. Discover the history behind the landscape design; take time to sketch in the booklet\, pause along the way to appreciate the scents in the special scent boxes – can you guess what they are? Delve into quotes from the two-hundred-year-old text to feel transported back two centuries. \nA copy of the booklet costs £3 and the route is approximately 2 miles long (on hard-surface paths). Booking is not needed\, but normal admission charges apply. \nVisit the website for Croome’s opening hours and further information.

SUMMARY:Rhythm & Resonance: Hargest Creative Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Artists and wellbeing specialists Kevin and Mayuri have a joint exhibition in The Book & Cup Cafe at Malvern Library\, starting 31 January through to 27 February 2026 during library opening hours (closed Sundays). \nKevin’s work is abstract and conceptual\, drawing from life’s myriad of experiences to create pieces full of narrative and complexity. \nMayuri’s work draws on her Indian heritage\, using the graphical lines from mehndhi and saree patterns in hand drawn or relief printed works\, exploring nature\, ritual and peace in chaos. \nRhythm & Resonance is a celebration of over 20 years of creativity in its many forms\, including poetry\, prints and paintings\, with both older and newer pieces exhibited. \nNearby the venue is the awesome Priory Park\, so this half term\, take a visit to the cafe for the exhibition\, to explore the books in the library and have a run around in the park: a lovely day out for the kids and you! \nJust a note that the cafe is open for service Monday – Thursday only\, but the exhibition is still open and aligns to the library times.

SUMMARY:NT Live: The Fifth Step
DESCRIPTION:Pre-recorded broadcast filmed live from @sohoplace in London’s West End. \nThe Fifth Step\, directed by Finn den Hertog\, stars Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses\, Dunkirk) and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (The Hobbit\, The Responder) in the critically acclaimed and subversively funny new play by David Ireland. \nAfter years in the 12-step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous\, James becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka. In this provocative and entertaining production\, the pair bond over black coffee\, trade stories and build a fragile friendship out of their shared experiences. But as Luka approaches step five – the moment of confession – dangerous truths emerge\, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend.

SUMMARY:Malvern Pastel Artists
DESCRIPTION:Who are we?\nMalvern Pastel Artists is a new community art group starting in 2026 meeting fortnightly. We would like to welcome other local pastel artists to create in a relaxed social space. The group is not a tutored class. Open to all abilities\, beginners are welcome to join. There will be some beginner-friendly art materials available for those new to pastels. \nWhat do we mean by pastels?\nWhat we love about pastels is that it’s drawing and painting combined in one – with intense colours closer to the raw pigment than other media. We define pastels as including soft pastels\, hard pastels\, pan pastels\, oil pastels\, charcoal\, graphite\, crayons\, any pencils and stick form media. Many of us are mixed-media artists and combine pastels with other media – watercolour\, for example. \nWhen?\nOne morning and one early evening session each month\, starting on 16 January 2026. (N.B. There is no session scheduled for the first Friday in April 2026\, which is Good Friday.) You are free to choose when to attend via our booking system (up to 20 people per session due to room size): \n\n1st Friday of the month: morning – 9.30am -12 noon\n3rd Friday of the month: evening – 6pm – 8.30 pm\n\nCosts\n£6 annual membership for 2026 (£0.50 a month) and £5 per booked session. Membership will be required to attend sessions and session tickets can be booked in advance. \nEmail: malvernpastelartists@hotmail.com

SUMMARY:Meditation and Buddhism Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Adhisthana to meditate with others and develop your ability to work creatively with your mind. You can either learn to meditate from scratch and develop the foundations for a daily practice or join the regulars to build on what you know and discover how to apply yourself effectively in meditation. \nAs of December 2025\, classes are being held on Mondays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm and are open to participants of all levels of experience. Please note there is no class on 22 or 29 December 2025. \nYou are welcome to arrive 15 minutes before the start. You’ll be greeted at the entrance by someone who will direct you where to go and help you with any queries. \nThe class takes place in a room on the first floor and is\, as a consequence\, unfortunately not accessible. \nIn the first half of the session\, we meditate together; this is followed by a tea break. In the second half\, we learn about the teachings of the Buddha with the chance to engage in discussion and ask questions. \nThe class is led by a team of members of the Triratna Buddhist Order and those who are training for ordination. \nIf you would like more information\, you can call Adhisthana on 01531 641726 or email us (otherwise just turn up!).
